Common Core.JPGThe following list contains URLs to some (but not all) of the CCSS text exemplars listed in the document Appendix B: Text Exemplars and Sample Performance Tasks [PDF]. The following works are provided for educational purposes by the respective websites. In some cases, works (or editions of works) are available online because they are no longer protected by copyright. In other cases, the site administrators have secured permission from the author or author's estate to provide access to the link for educational purposes. The text exemplars which remain absent from this list are still under copyright protection and cannot be shared in this manner.
An additional note: the JCHS Media Center owns some physical copies of the text exemplars. We have also spotted a few informational texts, such as Neil deGrasse Tyson's "Gravity in Reverse: The Tale of Albert Einstein's Greatest Blunder" (Science/Mathematics/Technology exemplars, grades 11 & 12), in the Gale General One File database available from the Tennessee Electronic Library (TEL).
Please do not hesitate to contact us if you need further assistance locating text exemplars.
